This is what MODERN food has done to us.
1. You do NOT have to count calories to see results
Do you honestly think that (person #1) 1500 calories of processed meats, canned fruits and veggies, fat free cream cheese, high fiber crackers, and 100 calorie cookie snack packs is going to look the same as someone that eats (person #2) 1500 calories of fresh fruit and veggies, raw nuts, unprocessed meats, no grains, no dairy...all natural diet?
If you say yes, you have much to learn. Check out Robb Wolfs- The Paleo Solution.
In my head when I think of person #1 I see what is called a "skinny fat" person.
And #2- in my head, is a lean, mean, fat burning machine.
Not all calories are created equal, and they definitely will not give you the same body! So, instead of looking at all the calories and worrying about all the nutritional percents and numbers, move your eyes all the way down to the bottom where is says "ingredients." That is what you SHOULD be paying attention to.
Stay away from foods with artificial ingredients, and buy the foods that you are able to pronounce each ingredient and know that they are natural!
2. Just because a label says "Fat Free" or "Sugar Free" does not mean it is healthy for you. In fact, its probably not healthy at all!
Fat free foods are usually loaded with sugar- and not a good type- usually high fructose corn syrups. And sugar free foods are loaded with artificial sugars. Do you think our bodies are meant to process anything artificial??? No. And you wonder why there is such a high percent of people dying everyday from cancer :(
3. Fruit is NOT bad for you.
Sometimes I think I want to tackle the people who tell me they cut fruit out of their diet, and shove a few pieces in and MAKE them eat it! I would NEVER recommend cutting out ALL fruit. Fruit is amazing for you, there are so many benefits: anti oxidants that help keep us young. Nutrients and vitamins that help to keep us healthy. Why the hell would you cut out something from your diet that keeps you happy, healthy and alive?! hummm.....exactly!
