Memorial Murph Saturday

LT. Michael Murphy
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
"Murph"
For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.
"The worst thing you can do this Memorial Weekend is to do nothing at all. It doesn't matter what you do, just do it to honor our fallen brothers (and sisters)."
Remember them, honor them but don't forget what and who they left behind.

There will be scaling options for not only pull-ups and push-ups but also the reps posted on the whiteboard for those new to this hero WOD.

If you haven't signed up for a heat there are still spots available at 1045am.
Gym opens @ 8am
1st Heat @ 830am

There will also be a Chesapeake Fire Department Truck there to show their support for our participants. Parents are welcome to take their kids over and have the firefighters show them around on the truck. They will be parked in the back lot next to the gravel fenced area. Please do not park over there as they need to be able to leave at a moments notice just in case. If all parking is taken in our lot please park across the street at the lighting store. Thank you.
